The company’s innovative hair mats offer significant opportunities in both existing and new markets. In the environmental cleanup sector, they provide an efficient, eco-friendly alternative to synthetic materials, appealing to organizations focused on sustainability. In new markets, such as agriculture and landscaping, these mats can retain soil moisture and prevent erosion, promoting healthier crops and reducing chemical use. Their versatility and use of renewable materials like hair foster a circular economy, creating business opportunities across various industries. By addressing diverse environmental challenges, the company drives growth and sustainable development.

Our Hair Mats work wonders for both wild and urban environments. Not only are they able to soak up petroleum from emergency spills, but they also collect litter in storm drains and filter runoff. They can help with soil erosion prevention, protect habitats from wildfire retardant contamination, collect restaurant grease, and more!

Our Hair Mats, produced by a needle punching machine (provided by Humsum.org) and volunteers,  can be a sustainable solution to the problem of drought. Hair mats have proven to be a beneficial addition to agricultural practices as they enhance the quality of fruit and vegetable production.A Revolution in Environmental Protection
Did you happen to know?
Hair mats contain 51% carbon, 21% oxygen, 17% nitrogen, 6% hydrogen, and 5% sulfur, which makes waste human hair a good source of organic fertilizer compared to other materials currently on the market, Hair mats can act as a slow-release fertilizer, providing plants with essential elements for growth.
Human hair air retains moisture well and also helps to bind the soil, which reduces the chances of erosion. The hair structure allows the water into the soil while it blocks the evaporation process maintaining the soil moisture level. Similar to other mulches, human hair can also keep the soil cooler.
Hair is an abundantly available natural byproduct, making it a potentially sustainable and eco-friendly option, especially if sourced from local hair salons.
Using hair for plants is a creative way to repurpose waste material, contributing to recycling efforts and reducing overall environmental impact.

If everyone’s hair was used to create hair mats, it would create a unique sense of connection among people. This idea stems from the notion that by combining every individual’s hair, loneliness could be alleviated and a stronger community bond could be formed. The process of making these hair mats would require people to come together and work collaboratively, thereby fostering a sense of togetherness and unity. Each individual’s contribution would be valued and appreciated, as their hair would play a crucial role in the creation of these mats. By involving people in every stage of the process, from collecting the hair to weaving the mats, individuals would feel a sense of importance and significance. The collective effort to clean the sea or aid the soil with these hair mats would highlight individuals’ impact and influence on a larger scale. In a world where hair mats become a symbol of connection and community, people would be reminded that they matter and can make a positive difference in the world.
